This simple case ( Video: Chair Caster Cleaning ) shows how chair casters act as unwitting vectors for all types of dirt accumulated and picked up over time.

Picked up also means that over time, this dirt is carried and spread both locally and wherever the chair is moved.

The same logic — on an even larger scale — applies to the wheels of carts, pallet jacks, and any indoor or outdoor transport vehicle that operates over greater distances.

As can be seen in the video, on a washable decontamination mat (approx. 40 cm wide), the chair caster is cleaned within just a few centimeters. Naturally, this distance increases for wheels or casters with a larger diameter
